Santa came early!!

Hello family and friends!

This week was super exciting, as we received the news that we are now allowed to use Facebook to proselyte and we also received smartphones! One of the assistants to the president dressed up as Santa and brought around all our new phones, it was pretty funny haha.

But seriously we are so excited for this new technology and these new opportunities and it is so amazing to see how this work is hastening! 

I am so grateful for this gospel and the opportunity to share it. I know that it has blessed my life so much, and has helped me become the person I am today. I know that we all have so much potential as God's children, and that He loves us so much. 

I'm so grateful for all of you and all of your support! For all of you who have stuck around this long and keep reading my emails, shout out to yall! You're halfway there! ;) haha

Hello everyone!!

I hope y'all had a fantastic week! Here in Georgia we definitely had lots of fun and adventures this week. 

We got the news that we will be able to begin using Facebook this Friday! I am super excited to be able to use this technology in proselyting! We are looking forward to seeing how it accelerates the work here. I will keep y'all updated. :)

One fun thing this week was that we were able to go on exchanges with some of the sisters in our zone. I always learn so much from exchanges, and this exchange was no exception! It was really cool as we spent the day learning from each other, and since I went with Sister Gifford who has been out for a while, I learned a lot of cool ideas! One of our favorite things to talk to people about is family history. It has been a big focus on our mission, and it is so fun to get to know people and help them get to know their family.

Hello everyone!

I hope y'all had a fantastic week! This weekend was so wonderful because we were able to watch general conference! I received so many answers to my personal questions and prayers and I know that God truly calls prophets and apostles to bless us in our days! If you weren't able to watch it, I challenge you all to get on lds.org and read or watch the talks. Listening and heeding to the counsel given to us from modern prophets and apostles can bless our lives so much.

This week was also great because we had a small zone meeting and talked about how we can use family history work to talk to more people. We know that the message we share is so important to families not only the family we have here, but also the family that has passed on. It was so fun helping people we met discover more about their genealogy and help them set up accounts on familysearch.org. 

I love this work and am so grateful for the opportunity to be a missionary. I hope you all have a great week!

Hello everyone!!

This week was so great! Sooooooo many things happened! 

First, we had a huge party called fiesta de las naciones and all week everyone was getting ready and preparing for it and boy was it a lot of work. Everyone prepared traditional decorations and dishes frommtheir country and there were representatives from Mexico, Guatemala, Venezuela, Uruguay, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Puerto Rico, Ecuador, chile and maybe a few others. It was super cool to be able to participate and see little bits of their cultures and how they are so passionate about it! And everyone did traditional dances and it was so fun! I love being able to serve these people and get to know so many different cultures! God loves all of His children so much! 

Then, the most interesting and memorable part was on Saturday when we got the call that 36 sister missionaries that had been evacuated from Puerto Rico were arriving to our mission and we needed to have beds and food ready for them! It was a crazy day! Initially they were going to arrive at 6:30pm and so we dropped all out other plans and  drove all the way to the mission home to get everything ready, then we waited, and waited... Eventually all the relief society sisters left and we had to keep waiting, and made all their beds and stuff, and then they arrived around 12:45am... We were informed that they had been living in the mission home in PR (Puerto Rico) for a few days and had very limited water and almost no food. So we didn't quite know what to expect when they got there, but as they started to come in we had wonderful reunions and even though we had never met before became fast friends. They had the look of people who had been through a whole lot but they were also smiling. It was incredible. So despite the lateness of the hour we served them all spaghetti dinners and sat and chatted for a little while and got them settled in. Then, as everything calmed down we all knelt in a prayer of gratitude together. One of the sisters from PR said the prayer in Spanish and the spirit was so strong there with us. While the prayer was being offered there were a few sniffles that soon turned into sobs as the weight of everything that had happened settled onto all of them and all of us. It was truly a humbling but sweet experience. These sweet sisters had been through so much, but they chose to be glad for the blessings that they had seen despite the tragedy they had experienced. They all showered and went to bed and we went home and finally went to sleep around 3. The next day we still got up at 6:30 and felt tired but probably not

as tired as they were.  Most of them headed off on flights to their newly assigned missions in the morning with just an hour or two of sleep. On Sunday we had church normally and then later we got a call that the three sisters who had stayed wanted to go out tracting, American style. The best part was that these sister didn't speak any English haha. So we took them out and showed them how it was done for a few hours. They loved it, and so did we. Then we had to help the mission president translate for them so we didn't get home until around 11 last night. We were beat.

Seriously though, this week was so amazing and it was so humbling to serve and get to know so many people. The sisters that came were all such great examples of people who faithfully endure trials. With all that is going on in the world, it is so important to remember who is in charge, and that the Lord has a greater plan for us all. 

D&C 123:17

"Therefore, dearly beloved brethren, let us cheerfully do all things that lie in our power; and then may we stand still, with the utmost assurance, to see the salvation of God, and for his arm to be revealed."

Sorry, I've lost my creativity

Sorry everyone, I have given up trying to think of creative subject titles...

But this week was great! We had a lot of success finding new people to teach, and reaching our goals. One cool experience this week was when we were tracting in a trailer park and came across a family cooking and they offered us tacos! Haha I absolutely love the Hispanic culture and how willing they are to share! We are able to share a scripture with them, and they want us to come back! 

This week we also had success working with members to plan a wedding for our investigators! It will be in October and we are all so excited! The investigators are named Alejandro and Evelin, and they have three little boys. They are such a sweet family, and we cannot wait to help them to get baptized so one day they can be sealed together for eternity!

Not much happened this week besides the usual knocking doors, talking to literally everyone, and eating lots of really good food. I love being a missionary and I'm so grateful for all y'all and your support.

Goin on month 8

Hello everyone!!

This week was fantastic! We had the opportunity to teach a family and they are now all new investigators! We talked about how we can grow closer together as a family through learning and applying the teachings of Jesus Christ. I know that families are so important, and I am so grateful for my wonderful family and their examples to me. 

It has also been crazy this week because everyone has been preparing for the hurricane, and a lot of people have come up from Florida. All the water, flashlights, and most of the bread is gone. We are definitely praying lots for all the people that have been affected, and are grateful that people have been able to come here! 

This week we went to the park, and with chalk wrote the scripture Romans 8:28,

"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God"

A lot of people really loved it, and were really grateful that we were sharing that message. Especially during these times, it is important to remember that God loves us so much, and if we love and have trust in Him, everything will work out.

Labor Day

Hello everyone!!

I hope y'all had a fantastic labor day! We have our pday today because we spent yesterday working hard, and we actually had lots of success yesterday! In the morning we contacted in the park, and it was so fun talking to people and sharing our beliefs with families and planting seeds so they can understand that families are eternal!

This week we had the opportunity to go serve at this place called hi hope. It is a place where special needs adults go and we get to play games with them and spend time with them. It was so fun to feel of their sweet spirits, and a testimony to me that God loves us all so much!

We also had a great lesson with the Pazol family, who are on date to be baptized in October. We read in the Book of Mormon and talked about how we can not only read these cool stories, but we can apply it to our everyday lives! I have a strong testimony of the Book of Mormon and I know it can change lives. I am so grateful for the opportunity to share it with everyone and help them realize what a blessing it can be in their lives as well.

Also we had exchanges with the sisters in Collins hill. I went to their area, and had a lot of fun being an English sister for a day! I am so blessed to work in such an amazing zone with such wonderful sisters, they are such great examples to me!
